WHY DOES IT SOUND SO GOOD?
It is impossible to even touch all the new technical designs at this instance that have been invented to make the ETNA E1 sound as it does. However here are a few.
THE ACTIVE TUBE FILTER CIRCUTRY
The Etna E3 take the term "Tube Equalizer" to it´s real meaning. Instead of just implementing the equalization in a passive electronic circuit in front of a tube that is just used as an amplification stage, the Etna E3 is the only EQ that utilizes active filter cicuitry to directly control the amplification of the tube.
The strength of the Etna E3 is the unmatched variety of sounds and colors. If you need subtle or drastic adjustments: due to the complex new developments in the E1 they will all sound silky, transparent and smooth as the all real strengths of a tube are supported.
+-20dB FOR ALL BANDS AND Q-FACTORS
While normal EQ design realizes the Q-width by flattening the curve and therefore reducing it´s peak gain, the Etna E3 uses a mechanism of cross fading Q factors. This way the maximum peak can be maintained over all Q-values and the control of the curves shape is in the hand of the designer and allows for the most unique and musical Q-curve.

A total of six tube stages are used in each channel (three high quality twin triods).
THE POWER SUPPLY
The Etna´s power supply is a set of innovations in itself and contributes a lot to the sound. All voltages are ramp controlled and a special turn-on procedure extend the life time of the tubes significantly. The power supply will recognize the mains voltage automatically, the massive ring core transformer is mounted outside of the chassis and it´s windings are separately statically shielded, the grounding wires utilize a cross section of about 20mm2, the high voltage for the tubes is ultra stable and noise free. The PSU has a power down delay and goes smoothly into hard bypass. And so on…
